Greenhouse@Urbana

Located at 411 west green street in sunny West Urbana Greenhouse co-op is 5 blocks from campus, 3 blocks from Strawberry fields, and is across the street from the green line.
At Greenhouse up to twelve members live together collectively sharing a communal space but individually renting rooms.
Greenhouse member commitment includes paying 125 per month into the food system and pairing up with fellow members once a week to cook for the entire house. Communal house dinners are the backbone of co-op life at greenhouse. Members supplement their food supply with fresh vegetables grown in a 1,250 square foot organic garden and fresh eggs from live chickens.
Greenhouse strives to be both a real and symbolic example of local food cultivation for the community at large. In addition to food share programs with various community members Greenhouse will be building an actual passive greenhouse mid July. Even if living at Greenhouse is not possible for you we encourage you to come stop by, say hello, and see whats cooking!
